For parents

What your child’s coach can see. And what nobody can.

Your child’s club uses 4CM to plan training and track how each player is developing. This page is the plain-English version of what that means for your family.

What you can see

  • How your child is developing across the four corners, in plain English
  • Milestones and goals their coach has set, and which ones they’ve met
  • Highlight clips their coach has chosen to share with you
  • Which development phase they’re in and what it focuses on
  • Who your club’s welfare officer is, and how to reach them

What you can’t

  • Your child’s wellness log — sleep, mood, soreness — unless they choose to share it
  • Any comparison or ranking against other children in the squad
  • Other children’s ratings, notes or clips
  • The coach’s private notes
  • Safeguarding records

Some of these are withheld from you on purpose. A child who knows their mood log goes to their parents stops being honest in it, and the log stops being useful to anyone.

Accounts

Whether your child has a login depends on their age.

Not because younger children matter less, but because giving an under-13 an account requires verified parental consent that we would rather build properly than quickly.

U6–U12

No account for your child

Their coach plans their sessions and tracks their development, and you see it through your parent account. Your child doesn’t log in and doesn’t have a profile. Nothing about them is public anywhere.

13–17

Their own account, and you’re told

A young person of 13 or over can hold their own account, rate themselves and keep a development journal. When they do, we email you — you are informed as a matter of course, and you can contact us about it at any time.

Your U7–U12 players are fully supported — you can plan their sessions, rate their development across the four corners, and share progress with their parents. Players aged 13 and above can claim their own login.

What coaches are told when they sign up

Things you can ask for, and get.

These aren’t favours. They’re rights under the UK GDPR, and there is a person whose job it is to answer you.

A copy of everything

Ask for all the personal data we hold about your child and we will provide it, normally within a month.

Corrections

Anything wrong — a date of birth, a name, a note — can be corrected.

Deletion

You can ask for your child’s data to be deleted. Some safeguarding records have to be kept by law; we will tell you if that applies and why.

To complain

To us first, then to your club, then to the Information Commissioner’s Office, who regulate this and take it seriously.

Start with dpo@4cmcoaching.co.uk. For anything about your child’s safety or wellbeing, use welfare@4cmcoaching.co.uk or your club’s welfare officer — and if you need to raise something urgently, there is a reporting form that doesn’t need an account.

Want the detail?

The full picture of how children’s data is handled — what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it — is on the safeguarding page, and the formal privacy notice is in the app.
